Unveil the Art of Kathak
Alpana Arts is a creative space where expression meets equation, rhythm meets reason : A confluence of the joy of pure classical Indian dance (Kathak) with arts, education, wellness and technology to spark imagination, inquiry, and joy.
Alpana comes from the Sanskrit word “alimpana” (अलिम्पन), which means "to decorate".
In traditional usage, Alpana refers to decorative floor or wall designs, typically made using a rice flour paste mixed with water. These are drawn by hand, often with fingertips, on auspicious occasions such as festivals, weddings, or spiritual rituals.
